A unique and ancient organic production method (Qvevri). The most cherished cultural treasure of Georgia. According to the archeological findings, some Qvevries are over 8 000 years old. This ancient traditional Georgian method of winemaking has been granted with the status of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
The Qvevri is used for the fermentation, storage and ageing of traditional Georgian wine. Resembling large, egg-shaped amphorae without handles, they are either buried below the ground or set into the floors of the large wine cellars.
